About the job
The Senior Manager, Marketing position is a pivotal role within marketing as it relates to moving initiatives forward, as well as helping establish a long-range plan to fuel portfolio growth. This includes maximizing revenue and gross profit for products in IV Therapy business by developing and establishing strategic KOL engagement, leveraging relationships and partnerships to support Fresenius Kabi’s goals. Responsibilities also include market analysis, branding influence, and strategic planning within this portfolio.
The primary business responsibility is commercializing and acting as the expert for the Fresenius Kabi’s IV Therapy products and services within their portfolio, lead and support the marketing unit and business unit teams including business development and new product development, product launch to optimize business opportunities.
The Senor Manager position is heavily reliant on collaboration with multiple Fresenius Kabi business functions including Product Development, Regulatory, R&D, Finance, Customer Service, Project Management, Business Analytics, Sales, Marketing, and National Accounts. The candidate must be able to successfully facilitate and complete projects in a “dotted line” environment. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, prioritize issues, navigate ambiguity, and manage conflicting deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills, project management and analytical skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an expert understanding of Fresenius Kabi’s assigned product portfolio, including current and future market trends, products, and competitors.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the future pipeline products and their characteristics and market requirements, e.g., competitive landscape, competitive and value-based pricing, market dynamics, and barriers to entry.
- Lead execution of assigned product launches and line extensions, including the development of product forecasts, pricing strategy, sales collateral and sales and clinical training videos.
- Develop collaterals ensuring compliance with brand positioning and guidelines, aligned with strategic marketing plans and financial goals.
- Ongoing interface with field, managing customer requests and product requirements.
- Conduct continuous surveillance of the environmental landscape to assess and make recommendations of future needs both organizationally and product focused to achieve business goals.
- Actively work with business analytics team in tracking tools to effectively manage sales/marketing programs and increase contract compliance.
- Provide pricing recommendations to help maximize product sales and gross profit. Serve as a resource and partner in the various sales channels such as specialty distributors, wholesalers, and group purchasing organizations. Work with national accounts, trade relations, business analytics, and contract marketing.
- Develop and provide support to line management with the preparation of presentations for leadership pertaining to strategic planning and forecasting.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align forecasting goals between the Market Unit (MU) and the Business Unit (BU). Work with internal/external stakeholders, supply chain, and customer service to ensure accurate and timely forecasting for new and existing products.
- Assist in the execution of Market Research, Advisory Boards, and speaker programs. This may involve identifying, recommending, inviting, and content development with potential advisors, moderators, and speakers.
- Work closely with targeted KOLs to obtain feedback vital in the development of specific brand-related strategies and the evaluation of new opportunities.
- Attend and coordinate the success of local, regional, and national meetings and conferences as required.
- Completes all training requirements, including all department-specific, compliance training, etc.
- Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master or advanced degree preferred i.e., PharmD, Nursing, Informatics, etc.).
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ related work experience; at least five (5) years’ experience in the medical device, software marketing or related industry is highly preferred.
- Experience with IV Therapy products: Infusion Pumps, IV Solution, Irrigation Solutions etc. is highly preferred.
- Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and Hospital IDN knowledge highly desired.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail required.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects within a defined budget.
- Ability to work independently to execute strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud software including Acrobat Pro, InDesign, and Premier Pro highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.
- Able to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects with demonstrated time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
- Highest level of integrity and good judgment, with the ability to effectively deal with highly sensitive, confidential information.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet business/customer needs.
- Travel may be required (approx. 10%).
