Winner of Ragan-Institute for Public Relations student contest announced
Student Juan Dorta’s winning submission to Twitter to be recognized during Future of Communications conference this week.
Juan Dorta, a senior at Louisiana State University (LSU) Alexandria in Alexandria, Louisiana, is the winner of the Ragan-Institute for Public Relations full-time college or university student contest, in which students were challenged with the question: “What will cutting-edge communications look like in 10 years?” The contest, which ran for nearly a month, asked students to submit their entries to Twitter and Instagram using the #commsweek2021. As part of Dorta’s prize, he will attend Ragan’s signature conference, The Future of Communications, on Nov. 17 during Communications Week, where he and his winning entry will be recognized.
“I want to thank Ragan for the award and the invaluable content they provide to students and industry professionals,” elates Dorta, a communications and PR student who is expecting to graduate in 2022. “The resources and content Ragan creates have helped me so much to keep learning and being motivated, and I took the chance to apply what I have learned so far.” Chances do pay off, as Dorta also will receive a $200 gift card in addition to the recognition. Dorta tells us that he has some work experience in social media and PR from his time in Europe and he wishes to “further my professional career in strategic communications and PR.”
In my contest submission, I share what will the future of communications be like in the next 10 years🤔
I believe the ever-changing nature of the industry doesn’t affect the end goal of communicators, it just changes how we get there. #CommsWeek2021 pic.twitter.com/DviBYB4K8L
