Applause!, one of the Walgreens’ two internal publications, is expected to grow in size this year thanks to the flood of attention from store employees and executives.
“We get a lot of mail from the field,” said Applause! editor Iris Iglarsh. “Constantly, every day we have people sending in news … we’re getting stuff all the time.”
This publication is enormously popular among Walgreens employees, which makes sense because Applause!—unlike the company’s other, more business-focused internal magazine Walgreen World—is all about employees and their achievements. The publication’s mission statement says:
“We believe people who promote our company’s name generate community goodwill or strive to succeed in areas outside the work deserve extra recognition. When we feature people in print we hope to motivate others to follow their leads and improve relationships inside and outside the company.”
