Digital upskilling leads to a more satisfied workforce, according to survey
New research from Gallup reveals that employees with digital skills experience job satisfaction, security and higher pay.
With millennials now making up the largest part of the workforce, many companies still face challenges around how to best attract and retain staff. So, what strategies can organizations adopt to help their employees keep their skills up to date?
A new study conducted by Gallup and Amazon Web Services, the AWS Global Digital Skills Study, The Economic Benefits of a Tech-Savvy Workforce report found that teaching employees additional skills, also known as upskilling, can enhance staff morale and can help retain top talent. The report also found that when current employees learn new digital skills they experience job satisfaction, security and higher pay.
The study also found that workers who use intermediate or advanced digital skills on the job earn 40% and 65% higher salaries, respectively than workers who do not use a computer at work.
