Report: Leaders, employees disagree on level of support for mental health
Top execs and HR leaders overwhelmingly say that employees expect too much mental-health support from their organizations. Employees see efforts to improve mental-health outcomes as surface-level.
For employees looking to evaluate the support they receive from their organizations, mental health is a top concern.
When asked what the benefits of mental health offerings are for organizations, 62% of managers and employees say they make workers more productive. That’s according to a new survey from Modern Health and Forrester Consulting.
“Mental health is something every employer should be thinking about daily—to simultaneously get ahead in the war for talent, while doing the right thing,” says Modern Health founder and CEO, Alyson Watson.
Yet, when it comes to mental health, there is a gap between what employers and employees see as necessary and beneficial.
According to data from Modern Health, 80% of C-suite leaders and 73% of HR leaders think employees are asking for too much on mental health. And for the efforts that companies are willing to implement, employees see a lack of real commitment.
