David Whiting
U.S. Lead, CommsTech Solutions - Edelman
David Whiting is the U.S. Lead for CommsTech Solutions at Edelman, where he brings together data and analytics to help communicators predict behavior, reduce risk and drive business outcomes. In his role, David leads a data-driven network of communications and marketing strategists, content creators and research experts who are dedicated to powerful storytelling on behalf of the firm's diverse set of clients. In addition, David is a global client leader where he is responsible for setting communications and marketing strategies, managing a network of client teams, and overseeing global client relationships of multimillion dollar partnerships. Previously, David was the New York Group Head and East Region Leader for Edelman Business Marketing. Prior to joining Edelman, he was a vice president in Fleishman-Hillard’s Washington D.C. office where he managed strategic communication programs and federal/state contract campaigns on behalf of major prime government contractors such as Booz Allen Hamilton, iRobot, Motorola Solutions and others. Before that, he was an associate in public affairs division of Mercer & Associates, Inc., where he worked to advance specific foreign government initiatives and managed public outreach strategy for political and corporate Fortune 500 clients. Early in his career, David was deputy to the campaign manager for the 2004 Kerry/Edwards Presidential campaign in Philadelphia, Pa., and also worked as a media liaison during the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, where he managed and coordinated onsite national and local press interviews and media initiatives for politicians and celebrities.
