Mobile app puts a university campus in your hand
Texas Tech’s app provides the campus community info on class times, bus routes and more—and it’s not finished yet.
Say you’re looking for a place to eat on a university campus. It can be a complicated process just to get some lunch. Where is it? When is it open? Where can you board a shuttle that will take you there? Is the location close to where you have to be in an hour?
At Texas Tech University, all you need is a smartphone to keep from having to hoof around only to find your dining choice is closed. And that’s not all TTUMobile‘s app does.
“We try to put Texas Tech in the palm of your hand,” says Josuha Bucy, who manages the school’s app.
Students, faculty and visitors can use the app to track down bus routes and times, look up class times, get contact information, learn what’s going on in student government, and connect with app managers. Soon, Bucy says, they’ll also be able to find all of Texas Tech’s social media in one place.
