Many believe that the flow of information from managers to their direct reports, often called the manager cascade, is broken. This needn’t be the case.
Some senior leaders believe that managers drop the ball when tasked with making sure their direct reports understand business developments. Some managers believe that the problem starts at the top when senior leaders fail to give them the information, context and training required to be effective communicators.
During Ragan’s Strategic Communications Conference last fall at Microsoft HQ in Seattle, Alisha Celestine, executive director of leadership and internal communications at UCLA Health, shared her tips for making the manager cascade work.
