Telecommuting saves time and money, and employees love it. But what does it mean for the workplace of the future? This infographic makes some predictions.
How many times have you woken up in the morning and wished you could stay home and work in your pajamas?
Thanks to technology, those cozy mornings are a reality for many employees.
While only 2.3 percent of American employees worked from home in 1980, that number has climbed to 24 percent today, an infographic by Intuit reports.
Intuit’s infographic illustrates what’s driving the telecommuting trend, and how the ability to work from anywhere is changing the workplace.
Some interesting findings:
Americans lead the trend. Ninety percent of U.S. businesses provide or are expanding their telecommuting options, compared to 85 percent of Chinese, 77 percent of Indian and 72 percent of U.K. businesses.
