IBM integrates social media into intranet
The worldwide business technology consultancy put its intranet’s social tools front-and-center, and has reaped the benefits.
If you think micro-blogging at work is a waste of time, Yael Ravine, IBM’s manager of collaboration and social computing, disagrees with you.
“It’s about adoption, social computing guidelines, and how people use it for work,” he told Toby Ward, president and CEO of Prescient Digital Media, on Ward’s intranet blog. “We should be doing more micro-blogging instead of sending email; using these tools to make their work more productive.”
