How to improve employee retention in 2021
From the biggest agencies to the smallest shops, workers are any company’s most valuable asset. Here’s how to make them feel like they belong this year.
What are the top HR challenges facing PR and comms agencies in 2021? In a word: burnout.
Leigh Ober, global chief people officer at Rapp Worldwide, puts a finer point on it:
“Our people’s holistic wellbeing remains the most important priority as we head into the new year,” she says.
Many agencies are hoping that an extended holiday break was enough to recharge tired employees after a very long 2020. “Our mission heading into 2021 is to ensure every individual has a meaningful and enriching experience with us. That means caring for their individual wellbeing, careers and wealth by providing an inclusive and inspirational culture.”
That could mean continuing to rely on remote work, even after the pandemic has come to an end. “We want to take the best of our 2020 work from home experiences into 2021 and beyond so that we continue enabling agility for individuals and teams to connect in person when helpful and still allow ‘focused’ work time at home that also recognizes people’s personal needs for flexibility.”
