Here’s how communicators predict their role changing in the near future

With rapid advancements in the way we work and reach our stakeholders, it’s no surprise that comms pros are actively thinking about the future of their roles, and our function at large.

In Ragan’s 2023 Communications Benchmark Report, respondents said that the greatest changes in their roles over the next three years would include an increased focus and investment in DE&I work (39%), an increased focus on communicating with remote or non-desk workers (36%) and more thought leadership (35%). Though only 14% cited the use of AI, it’s important to note that this survey was fielded in November 2022, just before tools like Chat GPT began to dominate conversation.
