You’d better hold off sneaking a taste from that 19 oz. dough bar of Nestle fudgy brownie with peanut butter filling in your refrigerator. There’s an E. coli warning on some of the company’s products, and the bacterium could make you, ahem, toss your cookies.
On Friday, Nestle USA’s Baking Division voluntarily recalled a lengthy list of refrigerated cookie dough products.
As consumers started getting sick, the company worked together with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, along with the Food and Drug Administration, and issued a voluntarily recall of its cookie dough products.
“While the E. coli strain implicated in this investigation has not been detected in our product, the health and safety of our consumers is paramount so we are initiating this voluntarily recall,” the press release states. “Providing safe, high quality products to our consumers is our number one priority.”
