New York’s energy provider using passionate, engaging employee-actors
You’ve all heard about the benefits of online video—they’re a great way to show off your company’s personality in a format that can be quick and easy to digest.
Now it’s just a matter of making them happen at your company. Fortunately, online video is easier than ever before with cameras like Flip Video. But sometimes management doesn’t want a homemade look—they prefer polished videos, the type that can’t be captured by a handheld camera.
Now what?
ConEdison, the energy company serving New York City and the vicinity, has some ideas. The company released its first external video campaign for its Power of Green energy-saving tips in June to positive results. It has increased Web site views (10,000 unique visitors to the video site since June) and attracted more than 1,180 Facebook fans.
The videos weren’t made on the cheap; nor were they a million-dollar initiative.
