“Bill Gates needs a blog”: Seattle technology blog TechFlash writer Todd Bishop says Bill Gates, now heading up the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation full time, needs to get more savvy about social media. “For a guy who’s supposed to know a lot about technology, Gates is using some surprisingly old-school methods of interacting with the rest of the world,” says Bishop about Gates’ annual letter and conference call to announce the foundation’s goals for the coming year.

“What Gates himself needs is a blog—a place where he can regularly share his experiences traveling the world, talk about his ambitions in philanthropy and technology, post his photos, get his message across and interact publicly with all sorts of people, unencumbered by his handlers and unfiltered by the media,” Bishop writes.
