Only four people work in the Juniper Networks internal communication teams, but the results they deliver could come from a team much larger. For example, the quartet delivered a comprehensive campaign that met the CEO’s request to create awareness and buy-in among employees for four new “Company Imperatives” (around quality, innovation, business agility, and revenue growth). The team used multiple media to push the information (and make it available to those who wanted to pull it), but they also created engagement around the imperatives through events including competitions, fireside chats, meals with executives and live interaction with executives via an online collaboration channel. As a result, nearly 90 percent of employees said they were aware of the imperatives and understood how they connected to their everyday responsibilities, and more than 80 percent said the engagement programs inspired them to drive business outcomes.
