Delta agent or impostor? Reddit exchange puts airline in hot seat
Someone claiming to be a Delta Airlines employee doled out the snark in a Reddit thread this week in response to customer complaints. Should Delta step in? If so, how?
“People get pissed off when their luggage gets busted up,” a poster with the username Chaos_Vermillion, who claimed to be a Delta employee, wrote in a Reddit thread this week. “Oh, you jam packed you’re [sic] suitcase with 70 lbs. worth of s–t? Well guess what, so did everyone else. All those bags are coming out on the carousel at the same time. I’ve seen bags literally explode because of the pressure on them.”
Chaos_Vermillion was shockingly blunt in regard to several topics, including why frequent flier status matters, who gets punished if a flight doesn’t leave the gate on time, delayed luggage, and canceled flights.
Norman Birnbach of Birnbach Communications characterizes some of the poster’s comments as candid; others he deems a little too harsh.
It isn’t clear whether Chaos_Vermillion really works for Delta. A Delta spokeswoman could not confirm nor deny whether the poster is an employee. Either way, it presents a conundrum.
