Study: Web browsing on mobile devices doubled in 2011
Android users browse Web more frequently than iPhone users. Surprised?
The iPhone may be trendy, but Android users lead the pack in mobile Web browsing.
A recent study from Walker Sands Communications found that Android users were responsible for nearly half (46 percent) of all mobile Web traffic in 2011, up from 27 percent in 2010. iPhone users were the next largest category, making up 31 percent of mobile traffic. That number, however, dropped from 48 percent.
“Android’s expansive portfolio of mobile products makes it more accessible to a broad base of consumers than Apple’s iPhone,” says Daniel Laloggia, digital marketing manager at Walker Sands.
