Jana Dawson

Jana Dawson is the director of corporate communications at Evergy, a Fortune 600 electric company based in Kansas City, MO. Jana led the corporate communications team through the $16 billion merger of Kansas City Power and Light and Westar Energy in 2018 and the subsequent rebranding of the company to Evergy in 2019. She currently leads the company’s social and emerging media, external communications, internal communications and stakeholder engagement teams. Her marketing and communications background spans across multiple companies and industries, including Crayola products, economic and community development, banking and energy. Beyond the communications and marketing space, she’s held various leadership roles in commercial lending, human resources, strategic planning, and leadership development.
