How to develop your thought leadership
For organizations looking to elevate top leaders’ profiles, what strategies are working in the current media landscape?
How can you build the profile of your leaders? On a recent roundtable, Michael Kaye, global communications lead for the dating company OK Cupid, shared these lessons from his work with his CEO and CMO:
1. Be transparent. For OK Cupid, that means owning up to all the barriers and downsides that come with online dating. “We work in the dating space,” Kaye says. “We know dating can be really challenging, and we don’t sugarcoat it.”
2. Be relatable. When our CMO is most relatable, that resonates the most with the press, Kaye says. Your audience needs to see themselves in your message/organization.
