How to get employees to share vulnerable stories
Your story will have more impact if you can get individuals to put themselves out there—but how can you get them to open up?
One member shared how she was working on a story about an employee in IT who had fallen victim to a cyberattack—a story that offered insight and emotional resonance on an important business topic.
However, the employee was unwilling to be identified for the story. Understandably so—falling victim to a cyber attack can be embarrassing for anyone—and particularly for a member of the IT team. However, a communicator knows that the story is more meaningful if people can be identified and if stories have a human face.
