‘Eyes on the Future’ podcast touts the benefits of living and working in Rochester, NY
This business-minded podcast markets itself on social media and tells stories that people want to listen to.
Rochester, N.Y., is a great place to live and work.
That’s the key message behind Dixon Schwabl and Greater Rochester Enterprise’s broadcast, “Eyes on the Future.” This is a weekly, one-hour, live radio show. By turning these broadcasts into podcasts, it’s pulling in even more listeners.
We award “Eyes on the Future” Best Podcast in the 2013 PR Daily Awards because it knows its target demographic and tells them what’s being done to keep the economy growing. The people comprising the 12,000+ listener base are 35 and older, business-minded, and make more than $75,000 each year. Show sponsors help offset the cost of the show’s $75,000 annual budget.
The podcasts are getting more attention through radio spots, social media promotions, and Web and mobile marketing, according to the entry.
To encourage more podcast downloads, the Greater Rochester Enterprise built the RochesterBiz mobile app in 2012, which has garnered more than 1,000 downloads. In addition, podcasts are promoted on the front page of GRE’s website, which has seen a 20 percent spike in views since last year. The raw MP3 files of the show are shared with sponsors so they can be posted on their websites. Once podcasts are posted, they’re promoted through GRE’s Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts.
Congratulations to Jon Alhart, Staci Henning, and Katie Redmond for their efforts.
