5 vital DE&I takeaways from top HR pros
Gallup research offers insights into how companies can improve efforts to boost internal equity.
If you’re feeling frustrated with a lack of DE&I progress at your company, don’t give up.
Substantive DE&I wins take time, patience and dedication. It takes a wise strategy that fits your unique culture, too.
To help bolster your efforts—or perhaps get a refresh on your approach—Gallup offers 10 lessons from meetings with 231 CHROs. Here’s a snapshot of what Gallup learned:
1. Align the D, the E and the I.
Is your company considering each aspect of diversity, equity and inclusion and how they must harmonize? If you’re not addressing all three issues, you could be robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Gallup explains: “For example, organizations can increase hiring diversity, but a failure to align inclusion efforts can lead to a talent exodus as those diverse hires who want a welcoming work culture depart. Further, a failure to prioritize development opportunities will lead to a leaky succession pipeline.”
In the same way a threefold cord is not quickly broken, a DE&I strategy approach that considers the nuances of diversity, equity and inclusion—and how each is inextricably linked—will be more robust.
2. Authentic buy-in comes from culture and values.
